Option to reduce your excess to $0
Don’t want to be out of pocket if you need to claim? World2Cover gives you the option to reduce your excess to zero on selected travel insurance policies. This will attract an additional premium but that means, if you do need to make a claim, you may not have to part with a single cent.
What types of travel policies does World2Cover offer?
World2Cover has domestic travel insurance, and top, essentials and basics plans for destinations all across the globe. Depending on the coverage level you choose, it could help protect you from a range of common travel mishaps.
Domestic travel cover
World2Cover’s domestic travel insurance is designed for trips within Australia and can cover travel-related expenses that Medicare won’t cover, like lost luggage, cancelled flights or pre-paid activities, and rental car excess.
If you’re exploring a new corner of Australia’s vast landscape, a domestic travel insurance policy can help you out for any unplanned potholes you might chance upon along the way.
Basics cover
World2Cover’s basics travel insurance is an overseas travel insurance policy that focuses on protection for emergency medical and health-related costs. It’s designed for travellers who want basic international cover without paying for broader benefits.
Some basic policies might come with limited luggage benefits, so make sure to check their Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before buying.
Essentials cover
World2Cover’s essentials travel insurance is a middle level of cover for common travel issues like travel delays; cover for lost, damaged or stolen bags; and personal liability. It may suit travellers who want more than basic medical coverage but don’t want the higher levels of coverage that a comprehensive policy offers.
Top cover
World2Cover’s top cover travel insurance offers a high level of cover for a broad range of travel risks, including cancellation fees, travel delays, rental car excess, and stolen money and travel documents. It’s designed for travellers who want all their bases covered or have planned a more expensive trip.
More comprehensive travel insurance can include higher benefits than lower tier options, but you should still check all the exclusions and conditions to make sure it covers your trip.
Helpful tip

Taking valuable items, like a fancy DSLR camera or laptop, on your trip? It’s worth checking your policy’s item limits before you head off. If your belongings are worth more than the limits provided in your insurer’s policy, make sure to add extra cover. A quick check of your limits now could save you from a lot of pain in a worst-case scenario.

Frequently asked questions
Can I access my World2Cover account online?
With World2Cover, the quickest way to make a claim is online. But to change your policy or update your information, you’ll need to call World2Cover during its operating hours.
What are the excess options for World2Cover travel insurance?
World2Cover’s standard excess is $200, but for some of its policies, you can reduce the excess to $100 or $0. If you reduce your excess, you could see a shift in your premium price (depending on what you change your excess to). An excess is an agreed amount that you need to pay if you make a claim. It works like a pre-agreed amount that’s taken out of your insurance claim. So, if you make a claim for $2,000, the excess you pay (say, $200) means that your insurer pays $1,800 of the bill.
How do I make a claim on my World2Cover travel insurance policy?
You can make a claim with World2Cover by lodging it online within 30 days of your return home. Just register the email address linked to your policy and set up a password. After logging in, fill in all the details and provide any supporting documents like receipts or boarding passes. Once it’s all submitted, your claim will be assessed in 10 business days.
You can also submit a claim over the phone or by mail. If you’re calling, make sure to call the right number for your location, and check that you’re calling within the Australian line’s operating hours.
What payment options does World2Cover have?
You can pay your World2Cover travel insurance premium by credit card.
